eviag AG and W2E agree on extensive cooperation

Hannover, 20th April, 2009 The Duisburg manufacturer of windturbines eviag AG and the engineering company W2E, Rostock, have set up a new strategic cooperation on the basis of a license agreement for the new wind turbine W 93 2,0 MW. The agreement grants eviag AG‘s worldwide use of the new technology. In adding the W 93 to its product range eviag AG secures another highly competitive product line for its business. The W 93 was designed for the wind class IIa. As the W 100, marketed by eviag AG in France, Poland and North Africa, the W 93 is equipped with the succesful Larus Compact drive train concept. Its rotor has a diametre of 93 m. The company W2E started developping turbines equipped with variable speed six years ago. Apart from Fuhrländer the W 100 is also produced by eviag AG and the Chinese company A-Power. With the W 93 series the Rostock based W2E start to bring their technology directly on the market. Already in 2008 several license agreements with other manufacturers were signed. Acquiring the W 93 2,0 MW license enables eviag AG not only to act worldwide but also to offer multimegawatt turbines to its clients in Germany. Moreover, eviag AG assures the support and service. According to the current agenda, the first prototype of the W 93 ist going to be erected in autumn this year. The zero-series is to follow in 2010 and starting with 2011 the turbine will go into serial production. For the future, W2E and eviag AG already aim at another ambitious project: enlarging the swept area, diminishing the energy production cost and satisfying the demand for outstanding quality of the produced electrical energy.
